Social media and restaurants were discussed at Culinary Forum 2025!

Culinary Forum 2025 brought together leading names in the world of gastronomy, academics and industry representatives and hosted a remarkable session addressing the role of social media in restaurant management. Moderated by Istanbul Gelisim University Gastronomy Departments Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Serdar Egeli, the effects of digitalization on restaurants were discussed in a multifaceted way in the session titled "Scroll for the Challenge of Restaurants with Social Media".

Emphasizing that the success of restaurants is now directly related not only to the food they offer, but also to their presence on social media platforms, the session discussed the impact of customer comments, the power of viral content and branding processes. Speakers shared real-life examples of how social media has shaped restaurant perception and can directly impact sales. Important tips on effective social media strategies were presented for chefs and businesses who want to stand out in the digital world.

The event, which was also attended by IGU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students, offered a productive platform where the academic world met with sectoral practices. This session, organized within the scope of Culinary Forum 2025, aimed to provide innovative solutions to the participants by shedding light on the changing dynamics of restaurant management.
